Responsibilities
- Manage and administer city pension plans ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive pension documentation and reporting systems
- Conduct regular plan audits and financial analysis to ensure solvency
- Advise employees on pension options, eligibility requirements, and retirement planning
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments on pension-related projects
- Stay updated on legislative changes affecting public pension systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts
- Experience with government or municipal pension systems
