Responsibilities
- Manage daily pension fund operations including contributions, distributions, and investment reconciliations
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Illinois Public Pension statutes
- Develop retirement projection models using actuarial software (Milliman, Towers Watson)
- Conduct participant education workshops covering retirement planning options
- Collaborate with external auditors for annual financial statement reviews
- Implement pension policy updates based on legislative changes
- Generate comprehensive reports for Board of Trustees meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or Public Administration (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years pension plan administration experience in government sector
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Enrolled Pension Agent (EPA) designation
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with VBA experience
- Deep knowledge of 401(a), 457(b), and 403(b) plan regulations
- Illinois government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with pension management systems (e.g., Parnassus, Albridge)
