Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administration of Georgia State Pension Plan, including member enrollment and benefit calculations
- Ensure compliance with federal ERISA regulations and Georgia state pension laws
- Process retirement applications and coordinate with state agencies for seamless transitions
- Develop and maintain accurate pension records using specialized financial software
- Provide expert guidance to state employees on retirement planning options
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Georgia pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to complex financial calculations
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder education and conflict resolution
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Ability to obtain Georgia government security clearance within 30 days
