Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and compliance with ERISA and state regulations
- Process daily payroll transactions for retirement accounts with 24-hour turnaround
- Conduct benefit calculations and scenario modeling for retirement planning
- Collaborate with HR departments on employee benefit communications and education
- Maintain accurate participant records using government-approved software systems
- Prepare monthly compliance reports for municipal audit committees
- Research and implement best practices in pension administration efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience in public/government sector
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and government pension software (e.g., Millennium)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Indiana pension statutes
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error transaction processing
- Strong written communication skills for participant education materials
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced government environment
