You'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance, analyzing fund performance, and implementing strategic retirement planning initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund administration including member contributions, benefit calculations, and retirement processing
- Conduct complex financial modeling and actuarial analysis for multi-billion dollar retirement portfolios
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Massachusetts state pension laws
- Develop retirement education programs for municipal employees and retirees
- Collaborate with investment teams to align fund strategies with long-term liabilities
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for City Council and oversight committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a)/403(b) regulations, and Massachusetts M.G.L. c. 32
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and pension administration software
- Series 65 or 63 securities license preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Ability to obtain Massachusetts Municipal Finance Certification within 12 months
