Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans including retirement calculations, benefit distributions, and compliance with ERISA and CalPERS regulations
- Process weekly payroll deductions and contributions for retirement accounts
- Provide detailed pension counseling to employees and retirees regarding plan options and eligibility
- Conduct audits of pension records and financial statements to ensure accuracy
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports for regulatory bodies and county leadership
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to align pension strategies with organizational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and California pension laws
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., CalPERS systems) and MS Office Suite
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation a plus
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Valid California driver's license
