Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA, TSP, and OPM regulations
- Conduct complex benefit calculations and retirement counseling for federal employees
- Develop and implement strategic plan modifications aligned with legislative changes
- Collaborate with HR teams and legal counsel on pension-related disputes and appeals
- Generate comprehensive reports on plan performance and participant demographics
- Maintain accurate participant records using FedPension and HR Connect systems
- Lead training sessions for federal employees on retirement planning options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years' experience in pension plan administration or employee benefits
- Federal Benefits Consultant (FBC) or CEBS certification required
- Expertise in federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS) and Thrift Savings Plan
- Advanced proficiency in benefits administration software (e.g., Workday, ADP)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder presentations and counseling
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
