Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans including contribution calculations, disbursements, and compliance reporting
- Provide expert guidance to retirees and employees on pension benefits, withdrawal options, and tax implications
- Conduct annual plan audits and ensure adherence to ERISA and Florida Retirement System regulations
- Develop and implement educational materials for pension plan participants
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex pension-related inquiries
- Utilize specialized software (e.g., Millennium, Oracle) for plan management and reporting
- Prepare quarterly financial statements and regulatory filings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field required
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Florida retirement systems
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension management software
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts simply
- Proven ability to manage confidential financial data with integrity
- Experience with remote work and virtual collaboration tools
