Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans including calculations, distributions, and vesting schedules
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia state pension laws
- Manage member communications regarding retirement planning, account balances, and policy changes
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance and risk mitigation strategies
- Conduct audits and financial reporting for pension fund assets and liabilities
- Develop educational materials and workshops for pre-retirees and beneficiaries
- Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and actuarial consultants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a)/401(k) regulations, and Georgia pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, PeopleAdmin)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Strong communication abilities for complex policy explanations
- Experience with public sector retirement systems preferred
