Responsibilities
- Analyze and calculate pension benefits using complex actuarial formulas and federal guidelines.
- Review and process retirement applications, ensuring strict adherence to eligibility requirements and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to members regarding their pension status, estimates, and inquiries.
- Conduct internal audits and data reviews to maintain high standards of data integrity and compliance.
- Interpret federal legislation and regulatory updates to ensure pension practices remain current and lawful.
- Prepare detailed reports and correspondence for internal management and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Actuarial Science, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in pension administration, benefits management, or government financial services.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and other federal pension regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and legislation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
