Responsibilities
- Administer retirement pension plans in compliance with federal/state regulations and City policies
- Conduct eligibility determinations, benefit calculations, and retirement counseling
- Monitor investment performance and prepare financial reports for pension trustees
- Coordinate with auditors during annual compliance reviews and financial audits
- Develop and maintain accurate participant records and actuarial data
- Implement plan amendments and communicate policy changes to stakeholders
- Analyze pension fund data to ensure long-term solvency and risk mitigation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Proficiency in ERISA/Texas Retirement System regulations
- Advanced Excel skills with financial modeling experience
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting actuarial reports
- Excellent written/verbal communication for stakeholder engagement
- Government or public sector experience preferred
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation a plus
