Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for 15,000+ active and retired municipal employees
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments with 99.7% accuracy
- Conduct annual actuarial valuations and compliance audits for ERISA/GASB requirements
- Develop educational materials for participants on retirement planning and investment options
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams on policy updates and regulatory changes
- Manage participant inquiries via secure messaging platforms during night shift hours
- Generate executive reports on fund performance and demographic trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience with public sector plans
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., Millennium, Empower Retirement)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415(c), and Maryland pension regulations
- FINRA Series 65 or 66 certification required
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours (11 PM - 7 AM EST)
- Experience with remote work protocols and secure data handling
