Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and record-keeping for 50,000+ beneficiaries
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Arizona Revised Statutes Title 38
- Process retirement applications and calculate pension benefits using specialized software
- Conduct benefit audits and resolve complex pension discrepancies
- Develop educational materials for pre-retirement planning workshops
- Collaborate with HR departments on pension integration with other benefits
- Generate quarterly reports for the State Board of Retirement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Expertise in defined benefit plans, 401(k) administration, and ERISA compliance
- Proficiency with pension software (e.g., Millennium, PensionPro)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical accuracy
- Government/public sector background preferred
- Series 65 or 66 certification highly desirable
- Ability to handle confidential financial data with integrity
