Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, distributions, and record-keeping for government employees
- Process retirement applications and ensure compliance with Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) regulations
- Communicate plan benefits, eligibility requirements, and policy updates to participants
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports and reconcile pension fund transactions
- Assist in annual audits and benefit calculations for retirees
- Maintain confidential employee records using specialized pension software
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments on retirement-related initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or financial record-keeping
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and pension management software
- Strong understanding of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, OPERS)
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for participant interactions
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
