Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits and retirement accounts for state employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state laws
- Analyze financial data and investment performance for portfolio optimization
- Process retirement applications and resolve beneficiary inquiries
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams for regulatory reviews
- Develop educational materials for plan participants
- Monitor legislative changes affecting pension administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension management software
- State government or public sector experience preferred
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation a plus
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
