Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and compliance reporting
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting for retirement fund assets
- Develop and implement retirement plan policies aligned with state regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Manage participant communications regarding retirement benefits
- Monitor pension fund performance and recommend investment adjustments
- Train state employees on retirement plan options and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or retirement fund management
- Strong knowledge of California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) regulations
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software and data analysis tools
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred
- Experience with government accounting standards (GASB)
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement
