Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits including retirement calculations, survivor benefits, and disability claims
- Process and verify member contributions, service credits, and employment records
- Respond to complex inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and government agencies
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Minnesota state statutes
- Generate benefit statements, annual reports, and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with investment and actuarial teams on plan administration
- Utilize pension management software (e.g., Millennium, Empower) for data management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Minnesota pension laws
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and pension administration systems
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex benefit concepts
- Government or public sector experience preferred
