Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls from the public using multi-line telephone systems
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to track and coordinate police units
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Accurately document all call details, actions taken, and outcomes
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-pressure emergency situations
- Adhere to all department policies and confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (typing test required)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize information during emergencies
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Arizona driver's license required
- No felony convictions
