Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communication protocols
- Provide critical instructions to callers during crisis situations
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and mapping systems
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be 18 years or older at time of hire
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer literacy and typing proficiency (40+ WPM)
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-stress scenarios
- Valid California Driver's License
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
