Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls and prioritize dispatch of police units
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain accurate incident logs and case documentation
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during critical incidents
- Provide clear, calm communication to officers in the field
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid DC driver's license
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing test required)
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal communication skills under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
