Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols with field units
- Enter and update critical incident data in real-time databases
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Clear articulation and comprehension in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Must be at least 18 years old at time of appointment
