Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch law enforcement units using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and maintain constant communication with field units
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during emergencies
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to type 35+ WPM with accuracy
- Clear articulation and exceptional active listening skills
- U.S. citizenship and valid Florida driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Basic computer proficiency and multi-tasking aptitude
- Must complete 6-week paid training program successfully
