Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems with precision
- Maintain detailed records and logs of all communications and activities
- Provide critical information to field units and other emergency services
- Operate radio equipment and communication systems under pressure
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Clear, articulate communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions during emergencies
- Proficient in basic computer applications and willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
