Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using advanced CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed logs and digital records of all communications
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
- Participate in ongoing recertification and skills enhancement programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid Michigan driver's license (clean driving record required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer navigation
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure during crises
- Clear diction and exceptional verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized permanent resident
