Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police/fire/EMS resources
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and 911 equipment
- Remain calm and provide clear instructions during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Perform data entry and record management duties
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ words per minute (will be tested)
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional communication skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions under pressure
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Must pass pre-employment medical and psychological evaluations
