Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional operations
- Adhere to all NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Basic computer literacy and typing speed (40+ WPM)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong multitasking ability under high-pressure situations
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and clean drug screen
