Responsibilities
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to dispatch police, fire, and EMS units
- Process emergency calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain detailed incident logs and update real-time status information
- Provide crisis intervention support to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Adhere to all FCC regulations and departmental protocols
- Participate in ongoing scenario-based training simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Clear articulation and strong command of English language
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency including Windows OS
- Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment
