Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and incident reports
- Utilize CAD systems for efficient dispatching and resource allocation
- Provide critical information to first responders during critical incidents
- Remain calm and composed during high-stress emergency situations
- Complete comprehensive training programs to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn specialized software
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
