Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and medical personnel with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate incident documentation using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to first responders during high-stress situations
- Operate multiple communication channels simultaneously (radio, phone, digital)
- Remain calm and professional during crisis scenarios
- Adhere to all departmental protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum 35 WPM typing certification
- Ability to multitask under pressure with zero errors
- Strong verbal communication skills with clear diction
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, data entry)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
