Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police officers, fire, and EMS resources using CAD/RMS technology
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per state/federal protocols
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Monitor multiple radio channels simultaneously for coordinated response
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 40 WPM typing speed (certified test required)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in multitasking and decision-making under duress
- Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be 21+ years old and U.S. citizen
