Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all dispatch activities
- Utilize CAD systems to track units and manage incident details
- Provide critical information to field units during high-stress situations
- Work collaboratively with other dispatchers and agency personnel
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Clear communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions (misdemeanors evaluated case-by-case)
