Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems and radio communication
- Maintain detailed logs of all incidents and communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Operate specialized communication equipment under supervision
- Complete all phases of dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (40+ WPM)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Clear enunciation and exceptional verbal communication
- Valid Nebraska driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screen
- Must be at least 18 years old
- No felony convictions
