Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and prioritize response protocols
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to dispatch police/fire/EMS units
- Input and retrieve data from CAD/NCIC systems during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers in distress
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation
- Collaborate with officers and external agencies during emergencies
- Participate in continuous training to refine emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- No experience required – training provided
- Ability to remain composed during high-pressure situations
- Proficient typing (minimum 35 WPM) and computer literacy
- Clear verbal communication skills with multilingual ability preferred
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Nevada driver's license (required post-training)
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Washoe County
