Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Accurately dispatch police, fire, and EMS resources using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain precise radio communications with field units during critical incidents
- Execute multitasking protocols while documenting call details in compliance with state regulations
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams during major incidents and disaster responses
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass NCIC criminal background check and drug screening
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification (testing provided post-application)
- Clear articulation and exceptional listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and high-stress scenarios
- Proficient with basic computer technology and multi-tasking software
- Must reside within Guilford County or willing to relocate
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
