Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio communications equipment
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD systems
- Maintain precise logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Utilize NLETS and NCIC databases for information verification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and Alaska residency
- Pass extensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Clear criminal record and drug-free certification
- Valid Alaska driver's license
- Strong conflict resolution and stress management skills
