Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate field units
- Maintain detailed incident logs and computer-aided dispatch records
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Utilize CAD software to track unit locations and status updates
- Remain calm under pressure while handling multiple simultaneous incidents
- Follow strict protocols for sensitive information and crisis situations
- Participate in continuous training to maintain operational proficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- US citizenship and Louisiana residency required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM) with computer proficiency
- Exceptional communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to make quick decisions in high-stress environments
- Valid Louisiana driver's license (or obtain within 30 days)
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
