Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Dispatch appropriate units using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and specialized emergency response software
- Remain calm under pressure while making critical decisions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older (21+ preferred for shift work)
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (test required)
- Ability to speak clearly and fluently in English
- Basic computer literacy and multitasking abilities
- No felony convictions
