Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls using provided dispatch equipment
- Operate radio systems and CAD software for police/fire/medical coordination
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher certification program
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during active incidents
- Perform shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be 18+ years old and pass background/drug screening
- Ability to multitask under high-pressure situations
- Clear communication skills and emotional resilience
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- Valid Oregon driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
