Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress incidents
- Complete state-mandated training program for dispatcher certification
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum age 18 years old
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English
- Basic computer proficiency and typing ability (35+ WPM preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No prior experience necessary – training provided
