Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate radio communications during critical incidents
- Enter/update case information in law enforcement databases
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in life-threatening situations
- Monitor surveillance systems and alert patrols to suspicious activity
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid NJ driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification (will be tested)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional multi-tasking ability
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
