Responsibilities
- Answer and triage emergency/non-emergency calls with calm professionalism
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs and critical incident documentation
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with cross-agency responders during emergencies
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Proficient in multitasking and prioritization
- Flexible availability for rotating shifts (days/nights/weekends)
- Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn specialized software
