Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate units
- Operate radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) equipment
- Provide critical instructions to callers during emergencies
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS agencies
- Participate in ongoing training programs
- Adhere to department policies and procedures
- Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Typing speed of 35+ WPM
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- No felony convictions
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency
