Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate radio communication systems and maintain accurate logs of all incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate with field units and other agencies during multi-agency responses
- Utilize CAD systems to track incident status and resource deployment
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to department protocols
- Participate in continuous training to develop dispatching expertise
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM)
- Must be 18+ years old and a US citizen
- No felony convictions; clean driving record preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
