As a Police Dispatcher, you serve as the critical link between the public and law enforcement. You will answer emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch units, and provide vital information to ensure the safety of our citizens and officers. Responsibilities
- Monitor radio frequencies for emergencies and patrol units.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls and incident reports.
- Provide critical information to officers in the field and the public.
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems efficiently under pressure.
- Escalate complex situations to supervisors or senior dispatchers as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid driverβs license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, polygraph, and medical examination.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM) are highly preferred.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress, emergency situations.
