Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls with speed and precision, dispatching appropriate emergency services
- Maintain constant radio communication with patrol officers and emergency responders
- Enter and update critical incident data in Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents and disasters
- Document all communications accurately in compliance with NIMS standards
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously under time constraints
- Participate in continuous training exercises to maintain certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear diction and exceptional listening skills
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress emergency situations
- Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be 18+ years old and a US citizen
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
