Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police units and coordinate with EMS/Fire services
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide crisis intervention during high-stress situations
- Operate radio equipment and multi-channel communication systems
- Adhere to NJ State Police and NIMS protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid NJ Driver's License (required within 6 months)
- Typing speed 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph exam
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making skills
