Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls via radio, phone, and digital systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD software
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Operate multi-channel communication equipment under pressure
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
- Train on specialized systems including NCIC and LEIN databases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, Microsoft Office)
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- No felony convictions
