Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment
- Provide critical information to first responders during high-stress situations
- Maintain accurate call logs and documentation per department protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during complex incidents
- Utilize mapping software for precise location tracking and resource deployment
- Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Must pass NC Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) or equivalent certification
- Typing speed minimum 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computerized dispatch systems
- Excellent multitasking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
