Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio protocols
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during emergencies
- Operate specialized emergency communication equipment
- Adhere to all department policies and legal protocols
- Participate in continuous skills training and scenario drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (certified test required)
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
