Responsibilities
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate emergency response units
- Process 911 calls with accuracy and compassion during critical situations
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Utilize CAD systems to track unit locations and incident statuses
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, law enforcement)
- Provide critical information to first responders in real-time
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and protocol standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Kansas driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- Must complete departmental training program within 6 months
